New game from famed studio creates a brand new IP for PlayStation

Last night’s The Game Awards were filled with plenty of surprises and moments. From Astro Bot winning the coveted Game of the Year to CD Projekt Red finally showing off the first footage from The Witcher IV, it was a huge night for gamers with Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

But one of the biggest surprises came at the very end. Ever since releasing The Last of Us: Part II in 2020, PlayStation fans have been one the edge of their seat waiting for what developer Naughty Dog was going to do next. From rumors and speculation, to a phenomenal HBO Adaptation of The Last of Us, we’ve been left in the dark. Finally, Naughty Dog has shown what they’re working on.
The new game is Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. In this next gen sci-fi adventure game, players are assuming the role of Jordan A. Mun who is attempting to leave the planet of Sempiria. The game appears to be a huge AAA title that will be taking full advantage of the PS5’s hardware.

The studio is also taking advantage of their pedigree. The Last of Us and Uncharted games had a powerful, cinematic feel to them and this appears to be very similar. The game will feature an all-star Hollywood voice cast (including The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s Tati Gabrielle as Jordan) and others they haven not announced yet. And a full orchestral score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

While no release date or other details were revealed, Naughty Dog is appearing to ramp up the marketing so more info should be coming regarding the game in 2025.
