Apple TV+ has cemented itself as one of the highest quality streaming services, with a barrage of highly rated content over the past few years. It’s been no surprise that, given their successes, they’re able to pull off in some big names.

At CCXP Brazil earlier today, Apple gave eager fans their first look at one of next year’s big offerings, ‘The Gorge’. Directed by ‘Doctor Strange’, ‘The Black Phone’ and ‘Sinister’ Director Scott Derrickson, ‘The Gorge’ follows two special operatives sent to guard two separate towers. Inside is a mysterious force that they are only told they need to keep from escaping. That hole looks to be a portal to Hell itself, or at least described as such. The film features stars Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy, two actors who are always a delight.
While it’s light on specifics, the trailer features the setup for the story as well as some key moments. What exactly is hidden down there appears to be the mystery of the series. It’s that mystery, as well as the instant connection between Teller and Joy that really sell this trailer.
There’s some great action moments. The opening scene where we see Anya performing an assassination was fairly good. There was some great tension building Derrickson has become known for that looks like it could work. Yet in all this, there’s also a hint of romance between them that could spice up this thriller. It’s a difficult juggling act to pull off, but Derrickson is a talented director that could do just that.

Overall, it’s a fairly decent trailer. Not enough to raise it to a most anticipated film of the year, but good enough. It definitely raised my interest in this film.
The Film arrives on Apple TV+ on February 14, 2025.
