The DCU finally gets off its long awaited reboot next year, and earlier today James Gunn gave fans their first look at what the Man of Steel will be suiting up in.

Costume reveals have become a staple in superhero film marketing and today was no exception. As star David Corenswet is shown in the iconic blue and red suit for the first time, giving fans a good idea about the style of suit that Gunn is going for.

The suit is fairly familiar to what audiences have already seen, with a slightly more tactical look to the stitching than Henry Cavill’s suit. There also seems to be an intentional vagueness as to Gunn’s answer to the “trunks or no trunks” debate and whether Corenswet’s suit will show the red outerwear or not.

The new still not only shows off the suit, but the purple light in the background hints at another alien invasion plot (possibly Brainiac?) as well as the dust and dirt on the suit hinting at post-battle wear and tear.

While the Superman suit is probably the most important and the most iconic, there are still several other character reveals to come in the next few months, including many of the various heroes and villains. This includes Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner and Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane.

All these questions will be answered when ‘Superman’ hits theaters July 11, 2025.
