Earlier today, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment gave fans their first look at the newest Star Wars game coming. It’s a departure from last year’s Jedi: Survivor, but it’s intriguing in its own right.

The trailer features plenty of action for the open world sandbox of Tatooine (and other planets) players will get to experience as they take on the most notorious crime lords of the galaxy. It’s action-packed and gives us a very good look at the story that Kay Vess will be going on. It’s also clear from a few moments the game will take place between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Possibly even more important for fans, is the fact that Ubisoft finally gave a release date for the title. August 30 people will finally be able to play the game. This marks a very crucial release date for gaming in general, as so much of this year’s releases have felt very front loaded so far.

In typical Ubisoft fashion, the game will launch with multiple editions that contain all sorts of cosmetic and in-game items to purchase, depending on how much players are willing to spend on the game. These range from the standard $69.99 for the regular edition all the way to $129.99 for the Ultimate Edition. The Ultimate Edition will include the game’s post launch season pass.

It’s unclear how Outlaws will shape up, but it’s an exciting time whenever a new piece of Star Wars content is around the corner. More details should become clear closer to the August launch.
