Earlier today Pixar released the first full trailer for this summer’s highly anticipated sequel, Inside Out 2. Watch the full trailer below:

Picking up shortly after the original film, Inside Out 2, features the emotions inside of Riley’s head beginning to adjust to the fact that Riley, now 13, has begun puberty. This brings all new challenges and, of course, new emotions. These include Anxiety, Ennui, and Embarrassment. The conflicts between these new emotions will bring conflict as they all struggle to adapt to each other and Riley’s wildly changing world.

While some aspects may be reminiscent of 2022’s excellent Turning Red, there is a significant difference in the way the emotions are seen.

The trailer definitely has a Pixar-esque feel to it, telling what would normally be a pretty complex story with charm and heart to it, while still being very accessible to the younger audiences. It also has that same level of beautiful animation and whimsical worldbuilding the famous animation studio is known for. This new trailer gives audiences a more clear picture of the story while still hiding what’s sure to be its biggest surprises for the movie.

The original Inside Out was a hit, raking in $858 million for Disney/Pixar and garnering a Best Animated Feature Oscar nomination. The film will star Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Tony Hale, and Liza Lapira. It is directed by Kelsey Mann.

Inside Out 2 releases in theaters June 14, 2024.
