Sony has been rapidly preparing to expand their Karate Kid universe, which will see both Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan reprising their roles from their respective films. And today Sony announced another cast member joining the ranks of the sequel.

In a report by Variety, Sony has added The Mandalorian and Marvel’s Agents of Shield star Ming-Na Wen to the cast in an unknown role. Wen has been an active player in Hollywood for decades and this is the latest in her long line of roles.

The new Karate Kid will reportedly be a crossover, serving as respective sequels to Netflix’s wildly popular Cobra Kai and the classic 80s franchise, while also incorporating the 2010 reboot into the same universe. The 2010 reboot starred Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith. Smith is currently not slated to return with the cast. Numerous supporting cast members have also been announced.

The film will be directed by Jonathan Entwistle and written by Rob Lieber, with it landing in theaters this December.
